Welcome to Year 4
Last week during International Day, we learnt all about Japan. We learnt how to count from 1-10 and had a go with the Japanese art of paper folding- Origami. This certainly tested our instruction following skills and resilience!
This week we have been exploring how the Romans invaded Britain and the fight that Celts gave to stop the invasion. We also learnt about Boudicca and her rebellion against the Roman army. We had a go at being the (very small) Roman army battling the large Celt army. It was 10 Celts to every Roman soldier!
In maths this week we have decoded messages written in roman numerals as well as learn our roman numerals to 100. We also finished our learning on rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000.
In English we completed our second mission with the big writing agency by writing a diary entry using expanded noun phrases and possessive pronouns.
We started looking at how the Romans invaded Britain in the afternoons and we created our own Roman standards.
In music so far this term we have learnt to improvise on different instruments that include: the piano, guitar, xylophones and glockenspiels, ukuleles as well as our voices!
In Spanish we have been learning the different colours and the different names for our pets. We have also learnt to write these in sentences!
